Astrology Modalities

The three modalities in astrology are Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable. They describe how zodiac signs move, respond, and direct their energy in a birth chart.

Cardinal signs initiate. They begin new cycles, create movement, and push life forward through action and direction. Fixed signs stabilize. Every zodiac sign belongs to one of these three modalities. Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn are Cardinal signs. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius are Fixed signs. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces are Mutable signs.
