Find Your Vertex in Your Birth Chart

What Is the Vertex in Astrology?

The Vertex is a calculated point in your birth chart, rather than a planet or physical object. Astrologers often associate it with encounters and experiences that feel significant, especially those that arrive unexpectedly or through other people.

Sometimes described as a point of fate, the Vertex is best approached as a symbolic part of chart interpretation. It does not predict a destined relationship or guarantee that a particular event will happen.

Your Vertex Sign and House

Your Vertex sign provides a symbolic description of the qualities associated with these experiences. Its house connects them with an area of life, such as relationships, creativity, or work. Together, they give the placement more context.

Connections between the Vertex and other chart placements can add another layer to its interpretation. Explore it alongside your planets and aspects to see how it fits into the wider chart.

How to Calculate Your Vertex

Enter your birth date, time, and birthplace in the form above. The calculator uses these details to find your Vertex sign and house, with your complete natal chart available to explore.

Do You Need Your Birth Time?

Yes. The Vertex depends on your birth time and geographical location. An approximate or placeholder time can produce a different placement, so use your recorded birth time whenever possible.

If your birth time is unknown, treat any Vertex result calculated with a substitute time as provisional.
